June 2007

Lucy's spent twelve of her first twenty days of life in the hospital.  When she was ten days old, we took her to the emergency room for a fever of unknown cause.  She was admitted to Palmetto Health Richland Children's Hospital for 48-hour observation, but since her fever didn't break right away, she was
kept for a 10-day treatment of antibiotics to ward off any possible bacterial infection she may have had.  Angela stayed at the hospital day and night while Dan and Mikayla and many, many close friends took care of life outside the hospital. If you are reading this, THANK YOU!  You most likely helped us in some way, whether near or far, and we are very grateful. The Lord provided through so many people during Lucy's hospitalization.

Because Lucy was dismissed the night before Mikayla's 2nd birthday, Mikayla's party was postponed until the middle of July.  Mikayla didn't know or care.  She was just glad to have her family all together at home again.
