Mikayla's 3rd Year
Mikayla's 3rd year got off to a rough
start last June. The night before Mikayla's 2nd birthday, Lucy came home
from her hospitalization (due to a fever of unknown cause she had at 10 days
old), and Mikayla had to quickly adjust to life with a new baby in the house.
We look back and still feel so blessed by all the help we received from our
church family during that time along with the prayers of many others. With the uncertainty of things going on
then, we postponed Mikayla's birthday party to mid-July, and all worked out
beautifully.
Mikayla spent time this year playing more with friends, learning the fun of
playing dress up, moving from a crib to a big girl bed, swimming in the ocean,
riding horses, visiting the dentist, picking strawberries, going to "pre"
preschool, and gaining just a little bit of independence.
We were fortunate to have a lot of family visit us in South Carolina last summer and fall. In addition to trips to Illinois, we took a weekend trip to St. Helena, California for Angela's sister's wedding in late September. The trip is one Mikayla wanted to revisit every night for several months through a bedtime story we told about how she was a flower girl at the wedding.
We hope you enjoy the pictorial year in review! You'll see a link to page 2 at the bottom of this page.
